Discover our History
1999
Father and son, Govind and Samit Hathi launch Gowrie Limited in a small 300 sqft warehouse after having sold 22 pharmacies to Alliance Unichem.
2000
Gowrie Limited joins the UK's wholesaling pharmaceutical market trading as B&S (Buying & Selling) Healthcare. Due to the increased growth and demand, Alpa Hathi and a picker/packer join to make a team of 4.
2001
B&S Healthcare experiences hyperbolic growth and requires a larger facility. Samit's reinvestment of profits into the business leads to the purchase of a 2,500 sqft freehold site. The team also grows alongside the business increasing to 15 members. B&S Healthcare is audited and awarded a parallel import license by the MHRA.
2002
The business continues to grow at a phenomenal pace and moves to an even larger facility of 10,000 sqft. B&S Healthcare continue to showcase their strength by growing their Parallel Import product license portfolio to over 500 licenses alongside their team to 75 members. Revenues also soared from £30m to £150m.
2007
B&S Healthcare now completes the development of their own brand-new site in Ruislip, which is opened and inaugurated by the local Mayor. Employees grow to a total of 200 and B&S introduces new areas to the business.
2010
B&S Group acquires the assets of Colorama Pharmaceuticals. The Group also now has offices in London, Oxford, Manchester, Scotland and India with over 300 employees. The business focus is now based on reducing unnecessary costs and streamlining the business. Therefore, new technology and network infrastructure are implemented to bring the business to a new level.
2015
B&S Group acquires the distribution assets of Waymade PLC; one of the original and dynamic pioneers of the Parallel Import industry.
2016
With further needs to expand the storage capacity, the Perivale distribution centre was further expanded and renovated to cope with additional volumes from the Waymade deal.
2017
B&S Group inaugurated a brand-new site in Ruislip, making this their 3rd site in the UK. This site was chosen to bring B&S Healthcare with its Parallel Import and production activities to a higher level.
2020
2020 was a hard year for all due to Covid-19. During these tough times of the pandemic, B&S Group strove to become stronger and even more quality-driven to ensure patient safety across the UK. Therefore, we reflect on this year as a year of a renaissance in terms of values and objectives for the business, its employee and its customers.
