We met strong competition, faced many challenges and yet have grown to our present size as the result of customers purchasing our products and 'believing in us'. These purchases have been from small to large and they have financed our growth. They have financed our lifestyle and they have financed us. Why has this happened? How can we continue this success?"

Responsible for our Attitude

When B&S first started we wanted to build a company without internal politics and develop a fun environment to work in.

We have learnt that to achieve this we need our people to be responsible for what's in their hearts. One certainty is that throughout life we will all face different challenges. Whilst we cannot control the challenges, the attitude that we bring to overcome these challenges is in our control. The positive attitude with which we handle obstacles serves to motivate us and others around us. So what initially seemed like a problem is just something we need to solve.

We have a healthy working environment from the way we approach our colleagues and how we lead by example.

Our success depends on the amount our people care and the lengths they will go too to go the 'extra mile'. From helping their fellow colleagues, to ensuring our customers are getting the best level of service, to wholly caring about our company.

Our peoples' enthusiasm and care makes all the difference between a successful company and a good one.

We also want our team to have fun too because success without fun never lasts, and fun without success is not success. "Fun" for us means enjoying our work, enjoying the people we work with, enjoying the difference we make. More importantly we like to celebrate our achievements no matter how big or small they are.

Being responsible for results applies to everyone within the Group. We want our people to be accountable for their own high standards and achieving these. By being aware of what results are needed with measurable KPI's and Personal Development Plans, we will strive to constantly move ahead, recognise opportunities and contribute towards growing the business.

We believe that if what we do and say is consistent with our principles we will achieve the results we seek.

Responsible for Embracing Change

"B&S first started as a small distribution company supplying a handful of pharmacies. Since that time we have grown to be the largest parallel import licence holder in the UK, we have expanded into Ireland, developed a large export market, built a Specials manufacturing lab and acquired the assets of Colorama."

The market we are in is continually changing. Sometimes this is forced on us by competitors, sometimes we exploit opportunities. As a business we have to adapt to all change.

Managing organisational change and achieving personal growth is a cornerstone of the B & S philosophy. As our competitors compete to take our business we must continually innovate, develop new skills and open new markets to move ahead.

Responsible for our Culture

All of our team is responsible for furthering our culture. So what do we mean by culture? Culture is a set of behaviours that we are all responsible for. Our culture is, knowing what we need to do when we get up in the morning without having to be told what to do. Our culture is the attitude we bring to work every day, the pattern of thinking and acting with the customer in mind. Our culture is not just doing the right thing but it's doing things right in the first place.
